Penn State Wireless
Beginning April 1, Penn State is replacing the psu wireless network with eduroam as the University’s primary network. The existing psu network will be retired on June 30.
For Students
eduroam
All devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, must be connected to the eduroam network and reconfigured to support the new authentication method. Most TVs, smart speakers, and game consoles cannot connect to eduroam and will need to be connected to psu-personal.
psu-personal
The roomgear network in the residence halls will be replaced by psu-personal on June 30. If your device is registered on the roomgear network, it will work on psu-personal, a supplemental network for devices that do not support eduroam.
For Faculty and Staff
eduroam
Staff and faculty will need to connect University-provided devices to the eduroam network prior to June 30. IT units and endpoint management teams should prepare to configure Penn State devices for the eduroam network’s new authentication method. After June 30, the old authentication method will stop working for eduroam. Any devices that have not been updated will not be able to connect to the eduroam network. For Guests and Visitors
Guests can continue using the psu-guest network to connect to Wi-Fi on all Penn State campus locations. Visitors should select psu-guest from the list of available Wi-Fi networks or visit psu-guest.psu.edu. For help connecting to the psu-guest network, contact the Penn State IT Service Desk.
