IT Impact Awards

IT Collaboration Award

The IT Collaboration Award recognizes a group leading cross-administrative area initiatives that benefit Penn State as a whole or positively impact the lives of University customers.

$300/awardee maximum, $3,000/award maximum

Award Criteria:

  • The group must be comprised of individuals working in IT, a related field, or a support service across Penn State.
  • The group must have made a positive impact on Penn State’s mission, operations, or customer welfare.

Nomination Requirements:

  1. Complete the online nomination form by April 7
  2. Submit the initial group charge and a final report that demonstrates the positive impact the team had on Penn State
  3. Submit three letters of support (from different administrative areas across Penn State) to itawards@psu.edu

Out of the Box Innovation Award

The Out of the Box Innovation Award honors an individual or group of individuals across Penn State IT who developed and executed an innovative approach to solve an IT issue.

$200/awardee maximum, $2,000/award maximum

Award Criteria:

  1. Nominee(s) must work in an IT-related field at Penn State.
  2. The individual or group must have used an innovative approach to solve an issue.
  3. The individual or group must have made a positive impact on Penn State.

Nomination Requirements:

  1. Complete the online nomination form by April 7
  2. Submit two letters of support (one from a supervisor) to itawards@psu.edu

Ranking Committee:

  • Penn State Information Technology Leadership Council

Resource Responsibility Award

The Resource Responsibility Award acknowledges an individual or a group across Penn State IT for making a significant contribution in reducing or consolidating the resources needed to deliver an IT service to Penn State. The types of resources can be financial, staff based, or green initiatives.

$200/awardee maximum, $2000/award maximum

Award Criteria:

  • Nominee(s) must work in an IT-related field at Penn State.
  • The individual or group must have saved measurable resources and benefited IT and Penn State.

Nomination Requirements:

  1. Complete the online nomination form by April 7
  2. Submit two letters of support to itawards@psu.edu
  3. Submit a statement of impact (showcasing measurable results) to itawards@psu.edu

Ranking Committee:

  • Debbie Meder and Financial Officer Committee 

Please keep in mind, a group or individual can be nominated for multiple awards; however, they are only eligible to win one category and supporting materials must be unique to each award. In addition, nominees cannot be added to the nomination after the application deadline.
